Finished Product of Genius Hour Project

Week 7

Well my genius hour project has come to an end. In the past week I have recorded everything that I have needed to. After I got everything recorded I have put it together and finished the details of the video. There was some troubleshooting with putting the video together exactly how I wanted but after hours of being on the computer I have finished it and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I can't wait to share it with everyone and I can't wait to see how everyone's turned out. This project was very fun and educating through the whole process and I am glad I had the opportunity to participate in the genius hour project.

Week 6

In the past week of my working on my Genius Hour Project things have been smooth sailing for the most part. I have just a few more clips to record on the camera and a little more audio to record. The only problems I have ran into are filming the video footage by myself, without a tripod or anything. Also, it took me awhile to record the audio because I would go back and listen to it then it wouldn’t sound good enough for me, so I would re-do it over and over again. I am still a little behind on schedule but I should catch up soon. By the end of next week I should have it all put together and perfected for everyone to see. 

Week 5

So far while working on this project of a motivational video, there has been some success but also a lot of trial and error. The video is suppose to be 3 to 4 minutes long and so far I have about the first 50 seconds done. While working on the little bit that I have, I ran into the problem of finding a good microphone that sounds okay. I tried one I had around the house and it didn't sound the way I wanted it to so I had to track one down at a relatives house. After I had that issue solved I had to find a specific movie maker on my computer that would allow me to talk and play music at the same time. Due to some of these issues, I'm a little behind but should be able to catch up before the due date. So far I have planned what I am going to say, I have planned what I am going to video and the format of the video. I have started recorded audio and video footage and pieced the first 50 seconds of the video together. Last weeks goals of filming the video footage isn't completely done but should be done this weekend or the beginning of next week. By the end of next week I should have everything recorded and start to be able to put it all together. I am very excited to see what the final product will look like!

First Blog

For those of you who do not know me yet, my name is Gavin Weeks. I am a freshman at MACC, I plan to attend here for another year. After I get my General Education out of the way I plan to go to a University and get my bachelors degree in forestry. I do not know what University I am going to attend yet but its going to be in the state of Missouri.

This blog is for a project called the "Genius Hour" and I will be updating the blog weekly. Going into this project I am very excited to have the experience of doing my own thing and making my own decisions about this project and having very few guidelines. My Genius Hour project is going to be to make a motivational video.

The timeline of this project is:

Weeks 1-3: Make a transcript of what i'm going to say and plan what i'm going to film.

Weeks 4-5: Film the audio and video recordings

Week 6: Put the video together and edit everything the way I want it.
